The problem being tested

People seeking withdrawal support can face delays, eligibility barriers, transportation problems, pet or property concerns, and fragmented referral pathways. The beta does not assume the City can independently operate a medical detox service.

Proposed action

Direct a future Vancouver administration to ask qualified City, provincial, health-authority, Indigenous, clinical, peer and legal representatives to prepare public pilot options, costs, authority boundaries, safeguards and outcome measures before any implementation decision.
